Mission Objective 

The clinical services department ensures delivery of high quality medical and laboratory services that are patient centered in order to ensure optimal health and well being for patients achieving the organization’s mission and vision.

The Medical Doctor will perform a range of functions including but not limited to; initial history taking, clinical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care. S/he must demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process, especially in assessing and diagnosing patients, leading to the delivery of safe care for all patients. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the healthcare team and the Management Team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures. The Medical Doctor will also review and act appropriately on blood results and referrals/correspondence regarding patients. In addition, S/he will be expected to occasionally carry out some home visits to patients registered on the Membership Scheme.

    Duties and Responsibilities 

                          ENSURE PROCESS INTEGRITY
PURPOSE

  • Develop medical policies and procedures and monitor adherence. Assess trends in the health care needs of clients in order to effectively develop new and existing medical services. Contribute to the operation and running of any research projects by providing clinical advice.
  • Review medical KPIs and OKRs regularly. Provide ongoing advice and consultation to clinical staff.
  • Organise and assign duties and tasks to clinical team members. Evaluate team activities, needs, and problems on a daily or as-needed basis. Oversee staff schedules for productivity and adequate staffing levels.
  • Evaluate performance of clinical team members and conduct performance evaluations. Supervise and coordinate the delivery of patient care and onboarding of new staff. Conduct face-to-face medical consultations and provide clinical support remotely.


                             ADVISE
ENGAGEMENT

  • Conduct periodic staff meetings with clinical team members. Effectively present data and information to the Management team Resolve complaints in a diplomatic and timely manner. Identify and recommend solutions to team and office issues.
  • Coordinate and assist in the delivery of healthcare with all members of the health team. Provide clinical input for new business development opportunities.


                     SUSTAIN STANDARDS
DELIVERY

  • Evaluate the quality and appropriateness of medical care and documentation. 
  • Regularly review medical KPIs and OKRs for quality assurance.


Targeted Specialized Knowledge 

  • Minimum of First degree and/ or training in Medicine from a recognized university 
  • Hold and maintain a current medical licence to practise in Nigeria.
  • Evidence of NYSC discharge/exemption certificate (where applicable)
  • Must have more than 3 (three) years experience as a medical doctor. Previous experience in a supervisory  or managerial role is desirable
